TUB TEA

Lemongrass oatmeal soak

There is nothing like a warm bath to soothe away all your troubles. Soaking in a herbal bath softens your skin, eases muscle pain, detoxify and adds fragrance to the steam.

You might have heard that eating oatmeal and drinking herbal teas can make your skin healthier and more beautiful. But they are not only useful in this form. They can be used also in this such an effective home ritual that even Cleopatra have taken it often to aid in her beauty.

Tub tea is just like a bath soak which contains loose tea. Because loose herbs can be messy in a bath tub, tub tea is contained in a small bag or even tea ball that steeps in your bath.

Here is our favorite tea tub combination, with only 3 skin soothing ingredients and so simple to make in just a few minutes.

INGREDIENTS: (makes 1 mason jar)

- Tea filter bag/ cotton bag/ mesh laundry bag
- 1 cup of dry oatmeal
- 1 cup of sea salt
- 4 teablespoons of lemongrass CC Tea / contents of 6 Tea bags
- optional: 10 drops of lemongrass essential oil (if you want to enjoy extra boost of lemongrass scent)

METHOD:

1. Measure ingredients , then layer them in a jar with a lid.
2. Before using, shake or stir the jar to combine all the ingredients.
3. Place few heaping spoonfuls of mixture in a Tea or cotton bag and seal the bag by folding the top down 4-5 times and secure with a single staple.
4. Allow it to steep in the warm bath water for up to 20 min and enjoy in some good music by the candle light.

We like using biodegradable tea filters because you can pop the whole thing in the compost bin when the bath is finished.

A small tip... Eat half an hour after the bath and do not eat right before the bath. This allows the body to regenerate and not just to concentrate on digesting the food.

Tub tea also makes such a perfect handmade gift for the health-conscious person on your list.
